Bearing Arms: Our Founding Fathers recognized a preexisting and unalienable right of self defense, and knew well the inevitably tyrannical nature of governments that came before ours throughout human history. They made explicit their belief in this preexisting right by recording it as the Second Amendment of the United States. The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, and must be yoked to responsible competence with those arms. The Founders did not believe that mere ownership of arms would keep Americans free unless those arms were mastered.

International Handgun Metallic Silhouette Association(IHMSA):
 The IHMSA organization started in 1976 with the purpose of promoting handgun silhouette competition. The object of the competition is to knock down metallic silhouettes (chickens, pigs, turkeys and rams) at various ranges to a maximum of 200 meters. The sport has spread to many countries and matches are shot all over the USA. Many of the inovations you see in handgunning today came from the sport of Pistol Silhouettes and the International Handgun Metallic Silhouette Assoc. 

The International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA): The International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA) is the governing body of a shooting sport that simulates self-defense scenarios and real life encounters. It was founded in 1996 as a response to the desires of shooters worldwide. The organization now boasts membership of more than 22,000, including members in 50 foreign countries.

International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC): The International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) was established to promote, maintain, improve and advance the sport of IPSC shooting, to safeguard its principles and to regulate its conduct worldwide in order to cultivate the safe, recreational use of firearms by persons of good character.

National Association of Shooting Sports Athletes (NASSA):
 NASSA stands for the "National Association of Shooting Sports Athletes". It was founded by E.C. "Coach" Wong, Assistant Pistol Coach to Erich Buljung, National Pistol Coach for the U.S. shooting team, which is based at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The National Skeet Shooting Association and National Sporting Clays Association: 
The National Skeet Shooting Association (NSSA) and the National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA) are the official governing and sanctioning bodies for their sports. The NSSA was founded in 1928 and is a nonprofit organization owned and operated by its members. It is the world’s largest skeet shooting organization and annually hosts the World Skeet Championships. NSCA was founded in 1989 as a division of NSSA, and it is now the world’s largest sporting clays organization. It annually hosts members from all 50 states and many foreign countries at the National Sporting Clays Championship.

Amateur Trapshooting Association: The ATA serves as the faithful protector of the sport of trapshooting. As the largest clay target shooting organization in the world, the ATA governs the sport's rules and regulations and seeks ways to further enhance the sport and increase participation. The ATA was founded in 1900 as the American Trapshooting Association and later changed to the Amateur Trapshooting Association in 1923. A Board of Directors, composed of state and provincial delegates govern all ATA policy matters. Oregon weather does it’s part in offering the rain, snow, fog, wind, heat, and combinations during the seasons at high elevation, giving the shooter true real world environments to learn in. When you enter Thunder Ranch you will see a manicured facility where every object has purpose and place.  From the classroom that seats students during lectures, to the outdoor pavilion where you will eat lunch and view the Oregon outback.  Contrary to what most people think, wildlife is abundant around the range, and you are just as likely to see a large amount of deer as you are your fellow students.

Gunsite Academy: Only an effective, safe and authoritative program of study can guarantee that in a moment of danger YOU will act to protect yourself, your loved ones or the ones you are sworn to with self defense firearms training skills. Gunsite is such a school. Here, we teach Marksmanship – how to hit what you aim at. However, Gunsite goes beyond this simple discipline to include the principles of Gun-handling and Mind-set. This we call the Combat Triad.  In 1959, Aldo Uberti began making replicas of Civil War-era cap and ball revolvers. He founded A. Uberti S.R.L. in the village of Gardone Val Trompia in the Italian Alps.
