The FPC is another great organization to get involved with to defend and preserve our rights.

Politicians are not keeping the promise they made when elected to office. They swore an oath to uphold the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights - all ten Amendments in the Bill of rights. This of course includes the Second Amendment, not just the ones they like. Politicians should not allowed to pick and choose what they like in the Constitution of The United States of America.

We have a mechanism in place to change the Constitution and the amendments to it. Politicians and government bureaucrats know they would never get 38 states to ratify the repeal of the Second Amendment. This is the only honorable and legal way to remove our right to own guns from the United States Constitution, not the back door laws and regulatory trickery that our elected representatives try pawn off on the citizens of The United States Of America. Elected officials should be upfront about what they want to do. They should not sneak into law impediments to exercising the 2nd amendment, under the guise of public safety.

We have all the laws we need to combat the use of firearms in crime. We need no more laws. Concentrating on enforcing our existing laws is what needs to be done. In fact, we might even be wise to eliminate many of them since they our redundant and only complicate the average person's ability to navigate the America legal quagmire. "Do no harm to your fellow man do not take what is not yours." This should be the guiding principle of every law.

The State legislature raids the DOJ (California Department of Justice) DROS fund – the $35.00 you pay for the “Dealer Record of Sale” when you buy a gun. This money should be used to arrest prohibited persons that lie on signed federal and state forms in an attempt try purchase a firearms, but Instead the money is going to the state’s general fund. The money should be used to hire more people at the DOJ so they can perform the background checks. The DOJ Firearms unit will only spend 30 days performing a background check on a perspective firearms purchaser. If the DOJ is unable to complete the background check, they give up and label the applicant undetermined. We have customers that simply have the same date of birth as a criminal, or similar name, that will never get a firearm, even though they have never committed an offense that would prohibit them from doing so. Why do they give up after thirty days? Because your DROS money went to the general fund and left the DOJ underfunded.

Each year fewer and fewer guns are legal to sell in California. Under the guise of public safety, they are outlawed through back door legal gymnastics. The roster of “safe handguns” is a complete farce, and a thinly veiled effort to ban semi-auto handguns in California. The list is so restrictive and convoluted that, if a manufacture improves the safety and reliability of a firearm, it will fall off the list. The manufacturer is forced to discontinue sales of the hand gun, or keep the old design (which can be less safe and reliable) in order to keep it on the DOJ “Safe handgun roster.” Things like thread pitch or slot thickness of a screw, the color of the gun, spring material, any small design revision gets the gun dropped from the roster. That is why virtually no new semi-auto handgun has been put on the roster in the last five years and each year dozens fall off the roster. The result is that each year there are fewer and fewer handguns we can sell in California.

We need to keep vigil or our constitutionally protected right of firearms ownership for all uses, whether for shooting sports, hunting, or self-defense and citizen ownership of firearms for the deterrence of government becoming tyrannical on its citizenry will be lost. It has happened in many countries already, England and Australia to name but two.

Keep vigilant and keep up the fight against overreaching government. Our fathers, grandfathers, sons and daughters have died for our rights. Let not their sacrifices be in vain.
